Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls

We walked along the White Water walk ......its just a walk along a footbridge but right next to the water.

Niagara Falls

Staying at the Sheraton overlooking the Falls. Great views and nice hotel. ................. now stayed in so many hotels we can't remember our room number! .................. yesterday we tried to get in the wrong room on the wrong floor!!! Somebody opened the door looking rather surprised that we were trying to get in his room! How embarrassing!

Niagara Falls

Here we are right down next to the falls - you can go under the falls too.
Last time I (Kay) visited here it was 30 years ago and we had proper black oil skin coats then now its disposable plastics!

Toronto

A bit different from our Cadillac Escalade!

Toronto

The three main things that bring money into Canada are the financial banks, tourism and filming. These are actors taking a break from filming a scene from the 1930's. Seems strange seeing them dressed like that with their mobiles!

Toronto

Another view from the CN Tower. The tall gold building is the Royal Bank of Canada and its real gold in the windows! (but apparently its not removable!)

Toronto

One of the views from the CN Tower. There's a small airport in the harbour, when we went on the boat trip had to avoid half the runway that's in the sea!

Toronto

We went up the CN Tower. 1,815 foot high, it used to be the tallest building in the world. We had a look at the glass floor but didn't venture on!

Toronto

We went on a city tour (the most boring tour we've ever done!!! the guide was so boring!).

Saw the Casa Loma - a castle built in 1911-1914 by financer Sir Henry Mill Pellet ......... this was the only time we could get out of the coach so only picture we could take!

Toronto

Lots of condos (flats) now on the front of the harbour................. the grey/brown ones in front of the CN Tower were built in the 70's and took over 3 years to sell. The blue ones in front of the CN Tower were built in the 80's and sold out in 3 days! How times change eh.
(Us property entrepreneurs like all this sort of info!)

Toronto - 26th April 2008

Arrived in Toronto - weather is warm and sunny.

We went on a boat trip round the harbour and islands. The harbour used to be very polluted but they removed all the polluting buildings back in the 70s and its now a clean conservation area.

Chicago

They say Chicago is the city that put up the first skyscrapers, called 'cloud busters' back then, and virtually redefined the 20th century urban landscape.

Chicago

Chicago at night - only one picture ......... we went out and it started to rain so gave up. Weather starting to turn colder.

Chicago

The tallest building is the Sears Tower. It used to be the tallest building in the world (1,454 feet) and it sways 18inches in the wind!

Chicago

The view from our hotel room.

Chicago 23rd April 2008

Arrived in Chicago today. Weather is sunny and warm. Staying at the Hilton with a view of Lake Michigan.
Fabulous hotel so glad to be out of the Heartbreak Hotel!

Memphis

We went to BB Kings nightclub and restaurant, and saw a great Blues band.

Memphis

They say Memphis is the home of the Blues and the birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll.

Memphis

This statue is in Memphis town down Beale Street.

Graceland

This is Elvis car that they used in the film Blue Hawaii.

Wow so now I've seen where they filmed Blue Hawaii and the car used in the film too! What more could an Elvis fan want!

Graceland

Elvis most famous car - his pink cadillac.

Graceland

A collection of some of the suits Elvis wore in the 70s.

Graceland

Well this is Elvis grave so he must be dead!!!! All those Elvis's we've seen all round the world must be fake!!!!!!!!!!!

Graceland

The Jungle room.

Graceland

Inside Graceland - the lounge.

Graceland - 22nd April 2008

On our own now. We went to Gracelands (well its something I (Kay) had to do!) Kevin really enjoyed it too!
Staying at the Heartbreak hotel - its awful!!! The worst place we have ever stayed!!! Its nothing like Graceland.

Vegas

Vegas

The Venetian at night.

Vegas

The Venetian at night.

Vegas

The Paris hotel.

Vegas

The Bellagio at night - the fountains dance to the music.

Vegas

We won some money on the roulette table too ........... think we will use the winnings for another suitcase as we can't get it all in!!!

Vegas

Our last night with Jackie and Ren. They fly to Denver in the morning and we fly to Memphis.

Vegas

Our 'taxi' to the helicoptor ride was a long black limo so we certainly travelled in style.

Vegas

Vegas

We covered 200 miles to the Grand Canyon and back. We arrived back in Vegas as the lights were coming on so great flying down the strip.
